Commissioning a custom piece is a very personal adventure and collaboration. We start with a conversation - we will talk through your ideas, what you want to commission and why. Perhaps you want to commemorate a career milestone, a family narrative, a special place. Do you have reference photos? Is there a specific place you’re planning for this piece to hang? Do you have an existing color palette? Are any of my existing or archived paintings inspiring you? These are all important touch stones to determine if we’re the right fit for your vision. I’ll also ask for some backstory - what’s your favorite song? How do you feel when you think of this event? Sometimes I might ask seemingly random questions - it’s all to get to know you better!
I allow your stories to inspire my brush.
We will determine the appropriate size, medium, and price, based on your requests and my intuition. When we have established the size, palette and an overall idea, a 50% deposit is requested. I will provide progress photos for you to enjoy, and a final photograph when the piece is completed. Upon final payment, the painting will be securely packed and shipped.
